Cannabis Butter Recipe
What you’ll need
- 10 g - 3.5 g Cannabis Flower
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 2 - 4 Sticks of Butter
How to Make your Butter
- Preheat oven to 200º
- Grind Dried Cannabis Flower into small pieces
- Place ground flower on a baking tray (lined with parchment for easy clean up)
- Bake ground flower for 30 minutes, stirring at 15 minutes
- In a large pot or double boiler add your butter, water, baked & ground cannabis flower and simmer on low for 3 hours. Do not let the mixture boil or go over 200ºF.
- Strain out the flower into a jar.
- Place in fridge overnight.
- The Butter will float on top of the water.
- Strain out water & store butter in the fridge for 6 weeks.
If making with Ghee:
- Do not add the water and simply simmer the butter & baked ground cannabis flower in ghee for 3 hours.
- Strain & Store at room temperature for 1 year (ghee is shelf stable & won’t spoil like butter)
- Discover your dosage by starting with just a small amount and waiting 30-90 minutes before taking another dose.

- When using cannabis by ingestion, take just small amount and wait 30-90 minutes until taking another dose.
- Your Butter strength depends on the ratio of dried cannabis flower to alcohol.
- Play around with a few different ratios, strains and butters to see what you enjoy best.
